I saw the white lights flickering against the black night sky out of the corners of my smiling eyes. Frank Sinatra was playing as I stood there with him on the cobblestoned sidewalk in the warm night air. It felt like summer. I couldn't help but start dancing in my green and blue plaid flip flops. He looked at me like I was crazy with the lights twinkling in his eyes... then he began to dance too. Neither of us could remember "that one swing step" we had learned back in November. That didn't stop us from making complete fools of ourselves. He spun himself around clumsily as he tried unsuccessfully to avoid stepping on my toes. My laughter echoed off the tall buildings around us. All those faces blurring past us probably thought we were crazy... which made it all the more worthwhile.

Weird dreams lately...
There I sat on the hard concrete as its shade of grey became more intensely pigmented with each stinging drop of cold rain. I sat with my knees bent and my legs crossing each other at the ankles. The rain was pouring all around me, and I seemed to exude the innocence that only a child can. My hair became soaked as I froze, shivering in my place, staring at my shoes. And then I felt it. I looked down at my body. At my legs, my arms. There were fat slimy worms inching their way across me. They were trying to burrow their way through my rain drenched skin. It seemed the more quickly I tried to peel them off, the quicker they would fight to break my skin.

I miss sleep.
What I wouldn't give to get some sleep uninterrupted by bad dreams.

A Year
Wow. It's been a year. A whole entire year. To me it doesn't seem like that much time has passed. Not at all. But at the same time I realize so much has happened, which makes the fact that it's been a whole year seem a little more believable. Everything in this world is constantly changing, which doesn't take a real genius to figure out. A quite literal example unveiled itself to me; the place where I was when I found out has been closed down... probably for several months now. There is some part of it all that I believe will always feel at least somewhat unrealistic to me. I know that so much of what actually happened has been skewed by all my emotions at the time and by how much time has passed. There are many years still ahead of me that will be used for looking back and remembering conversations and events that occurred. Sometimes with a smile on my face, other times with tears in my eyes. Those years will also be used for learning that indeed, "life goes on". I love you and miss you.

David Crowder Band at The Wiltern
Jon and I decided to take David to go see The David Crowder Band for his birthday. We met at David's place and went to grab a quick bite to eat at Fat Burger. I got the baby fat burger. I must say it was quite delicious. We then headed toward The Wiltern. Just before arriving there we saw this business whose sign read "Ethical Drugs". Good to know that they're ethical rather than unethical, ya know? We parked down the street from the venue and took our place in line, which was not nearly as long as it was once the doors opened. We got there just in time, but we came to found out that it didn't really matter. Our seats were at almost the very top. I didn't mind, though. I was quite excited when I was reminded that Phil Wickham was one of the openers, but not as excited about DCB! Only they could awesomely rig a "Guitar Hero" guitar to make the Mario Brothers sound effect, and actually use it to play a song in concert.
